Another phase of the re-organizing programme of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the main constituent party of the ruling alliance commenced yesterday in Polonnaruwa of the North Central Province.
The General Secretary of SLFP Minister Maithripala Sirisena launched the reorganization program in his electoral district Saturday and it will conclude today.
Under the reorganization program SLFP representatives will meet people in every household in the villages located in every district of the country to create awareness about the current political situation in the country and the party policies as well as to obtain views and opinions of the people for future use.
The Ministers, organizers of electorates and senior members of the party went door to door and distributed leaflets to raise awareness about the present political situation and to gain the residents' support.
Ministers Felix Perera, T.B. Ekanayake, Deputy Minister Rohana Dissanayake and Chief Ministers Athula Wijesinghe and Sarath Ekanayake participated in the canvassing.
According to Minister Sirisena reorganization work in Minneriya, Polonnaruwa and Medirigiriya electorates in the Polonnaruwa district is being carried out.
