Murikandy People Win Protest; Army to Hand Over Lands

The army has agreed to hand over all the lands of the people of Murikandy to them. The Assistant Government Agent of Oddusuddan Dinesh Kumar has divulged this information and it has been reported that people of Murikandy can start living in their own lands from now on.

The people of Murikandy who were taken to the detention camps are now been brought back to Murikandy. All the lands of these people will be handed back to them, says the army except for the lands belonging to 10 families from which the army has still not vacated, but will do so at the earliest. These lands belonging to the 10 families will be handed over to them as soon as the army leaves the lands, the army adds.

The people of Murikandy have been fighting hard to get back their lands for the past several years, and now having won their lands they are happily returning to their lands once again says the GTN reporter.
