Since the two syllabi were different, the Z-scores should not be pooled together, the petitioners said.
A group of 192 students who had sat the GCE A/L examination under the old syllabus in August 2011 filed new petitions in the Supreme Court yesterday. They said that subsequent to the recalculation of the Z-score treating the new and old syllabi as different populations, the second respondent, the University Grants Commission, had pooled the two sets of Z-scores together to admit students to universities. They said that the old syllabus students who gained admissions according to the first selection list had now been dropped. They said that the two sets should be treated differently.
Since the two syllabi were different, the Z-scores should not be pooled together, the petitioners said.
