Topless dance for CHOGM

Parents of students of a leading school in Kuliyapitiya are perturbed over an assignment given by the Ministry of Education to the students to welcome the delegation from Swaziland at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in a peculiar way.

Many of the parents said, most of the dances, according Swaziland culture, are performed by half naked damsels (virgins).

General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union (CTU), Joseph Stalin, said the Ministry of Education has no right to use school students for such type of performances.

"Are these dancing items suitable for a country like Sri Lanka?" Stalin questioned.
